Our Take
On A Whim is Navigare Yachting's 2024 Bali 4.8 at Hodge's Creek Marina: 48.8 feet, six cabins, six heads, registered for twelve. A small extra crew cabin and head are there too, but only if you hire local crew. Reverse-cycle air-con in the hulls, a generator and a watermaker are all listed, with 1,000 litres each of water and fuel, an electric mainsail winch, a self-tacking jib and a Highfield RIB on a lifting system. Six en-suites is the reason to book: twelve people and nobody shares a head. Twelve aboard is still twelve aboard, so the saloon and cockpit get busy and provisioning is a real job. Draft is 1.35 m. At nearly 49 feet this is a lot of cat to dock and anchor, so it needs a skipper with big-cat experience. Take it for a three-family trip.
