Our Take
Odyssey is Navigare Yachting's 2024 Lagoon 42 at Hodge's Creek Marina: 42 feet, four cabins and four heads, plus two small extra berth cabins, registered for twelve. Reverse-cycle air-con and an 11 kVA Onan generator are listed, along with a 144-litre cockpit fridge, an electric winch and a Highfield RIB with a 15 hp Yamaha. There's no watermaker, and the water tank is only 470 litres, so plan a top-up every few days. Lagoon's 42 is a good size for the BVI: big enough for four couples, small enough to pick up a mooring without drama. Draft is 1.25 m. Twelve is the registered maximum, but eight is the realistic number. Take it if you want a new cat with AC at a size that's easy to handle.
Who It Suits
Four couples or a family of up to 8 who want AC on an easy-to-handle cat. Plan water stops; there's no watermaker.
